- 18th in world's Economy

- 4th producer of oil in the world

- 2nd gas resources in the world

- 10th in the tourism ranking

- 5th country in Eco-tourism

- 1st country in terms of number of industries in the middle east and north Africa

- 4th  - 10th country in Zink and Cobalt production

- 1st country in the world in Aluminum, Manganese and copper production

- World's 4th country in variety of agricultural products

The main part of Iran's export is based on oil and gas export.

According to OPEC report, total amount of Iran's export was $98,981,000,000 in which oil industry was the first one with 54 percent (about $53,652,000,000).

Iran is also the 18th country in terms of purchasing power parity and is placed 29th in International Monetary Fund ranking.
